Have You Thought About Adding Drone Photography To Your Socia Media Feed?

Content is a critical component in the success of social media. It’s also what stops the scroll and grabs the attention of users. Most of us rely on blog posts, graphic design posts, photography, videography. However, additional drone content is still not commonly used. So, when implemented it tends to stand out and be more captivating. Why? Because the aerial view is not something we often see. Drone imagery can be a great compliment for a company website, blog post, real estate listing, wayfinding video, or facility showcase. There are so many ways and reasons to use drone content in your digital marketing strategy.

At BConnected, more than half of our team is Drone Certified with a commercial license. So naturally, we asked a few of our team members what they like about using a Drone and how it can benefit a business’s social media strategy.

SAM:

At BConnected, we’re storytellers for our client’s brands. A story can be a powerful thing– but only if people see/hear it! One way I like to help my clients stand out in the newsfeed is through drone photography & videography. You might have heard of the concept of “stopping the scroll”– it’s pretty self-explanatory.

All of us have hundreds of posts on our newsfeed that we scroll through every day, often on autopilot. Drone footage is a scroll-stopper because it’s unique, it elevates brand presence and perception, and it literally offers a different perspective. Take showing off a property, whether it’s a home for sale or a manufacturing facility– a photo of the front of the building taken from the street isn’t the most eye-catching thing. But a sunset drone shot of that same building is definitely going to catch someone’s attention!

I love drone footage for two main reasons: freedom and emotion. (Added bonus– it’s a ton of fun to capture!) Drones are portable, you don’t need to worry about finding a ladder or scaffolding tall enough for the shot you’re looking for, and there’s a lot less limitation when it comes to movement and obstacles. There’s an emotional response unique to seeing drone footage that can’t really be replicated by any other method– something about the soaring motion of drone footage is just so exciting! Personally, it makes me feel tiny yet also connected to the environment around me in a whole new way. If you’re looking for a fresh new way to tell your brand’s story, aerial photography/videography might be just the thing.

Brandon:

BConnected offers an array of services that cater to our client’s needs on social media. One of those services is Aerial Imagery. Through the use of trained professional certified drone pilots, it is possible to engage with customers and keep their attention while providing a vantage point that stops the scroll. Aerial imagery yields the opportunity to stand out from the crowd and your competition. It allows for an attention-grabbing first impression of your company. Additionally, it’s a great way to showcase the advantage of your location, access, as well as surrounding features from angles not available in the past. Any company can enhance its appeal by using aerial imagery. It can attract the customer’s attention and bring in future sales and better brand appeal!

Some industries that perform well are:

  • Real Estate
  • Resorts
  • Building or Construction Sites
  • Special Events

Matt:

People continue looking for ways to differentiate themselves online nowadays and the biggest (and most effective) tool being utilized is video. But with more and more people adding video to their online marketing efforts, how do you keep differentiating yourself from so many others?

For this answer, we take to the sky! What used to be reserved strictly for Hollywood blockbusters, more and more people are gaining access to video work from above with the help of drones.

No, we’re not talking about the ones used by the military or package deliveries. Drone videography and photography is quickly separating many businesses out there from their competitors. Maybe you have a brand new facility that you have built-in recent years. Maybe you’re trying to remind folks of your presence in the community. Maybe you’re trying to show people where you are on a map. There are so many reasons to add drone video/photos to your digital portfolio, but what I think drone work adds that isn’t always recognized is the feeling of interconnectedness. It’s hard not to think about how the world is so much bigger than just ourselves when looking at things from hundreds, if not thousands of feet above. You begin to see the entire picture and how each person, building, and landscape fit into it. So if your goal online is to be connected with your audience, don’t just tell them; show them.

Have you been convinced about the power of drone content? If you’re looking to add a different point of view and emotion into your social media posts, drone photography might be your next step. Whether showing off a new location, enhancing your appeal online, or wanting to show your connection to your environment in a whole new way, our team of drone pilots knows how to make an attention-grabbing first impression of your company with aerial imagery.
